Male, photographed in Perdiguera, Aragon, Spain, in May of this year. Semidesert zone (Christian det.)

Its a male of Hylaeus variegatus (Apidae). The rare H. meridionalis is also possible, both are not distinghuisable by photos.

I am not a specialist for Hylaeus in the South, and don't know weather this subspecies is correct. Normally, the species name is enought, and subspecies in most cases are not used by modern Hymopterologists.
