Green Chrysididae

Well, here I send another one. This one seemed to have some sexual dimorphism with the third tergite being light blue or green.
Aprox. 6-8 mm. Shot in a small humid spot in the middle of semiarid scrubland. 100masl Aguilas, S Spain. 28/April/2008.

Chrysidea

Postby chrysis on 26 Feb 2009, 15:37

hi,

it is Chrysidea pumila sensu Linsenmaier, 1959a.
I do not agree with the following Linsenmaier's interpretation of the names: pumila/persica/pumilionis and disclusa. At the moment I need to see only the type of Chrysidea persica, but I'm quite sure that Linsenmaier's first interpretation was correct, while later he changed and introduced unnecessary names which created only confusion (see Kimsey & Bohart, 1990)
