A green metallic wasp to identify..

Postby pilonm on 21 Dec 2008, 16:31

Hello all,

Here is a small but pretty wasp photographied at Sherbrooke, Quebec (near Vermont) last June 28th.

I'm hesitating between "Augochlora pura" and "Augochlorella aurata"...

Any idea about this species?

Thank you one more time for your precious help :D

Michel

It is a bee (Apidae) of the subfamily Halictinae, but I don't know the American genera or species.

Thank you very much Christian for your help.

You are right with the subfamily. Finally it is Augochlorella aurata as mentionned of some entomologist forums in North America. It looks like Augochlora pura but the size of the is the best indicator here.

Cheers,

Michel
