Chalcidoidea from Italy

Chalcidoidea from Italy

Postby mammut on 04 Mar 2018, 22:12

Observed on 2017/10/07 near Bologna, Italy
Is it possible to know something more about this tiny wasp. I found it on a plant of Chrysanthemum heavily attacked by aphids.
Thanks.

I can't tell you anything definitive - the details of the wing venation and antenna (the two best ways to ID chalcids) are just not visible. The general habitus looks like either a pteromalid or eulophid, but that's about all I can say.

Thank you very much Chalcidbear for your reply and for the explanations.
I've tried to enlarge the antennae of the second picture and of another one, but I'm afraid the quality is not good enough....
