Diapriidae - Belyta sanguinolenta? -> Synacra brachialis

Postby hanshermann on 11 Feb 2017, 23:53

Hello,

these pictures are from Nov. 23, taken in Hannover, Germany. The wasp is about 3 mm long.
I found it on top of a compost box in our garden.
Could it be Belyta sanguinolenta?

Thank you in advance!

Hans

Hi Victor,

thank you very much for your identification!
As I found in R. H. L. Disney "Scuttle Flies: The Phoridae" Synacra brachialis
is an endoparasite of Megaselia sp. I took a picture of a Megaselia sp. 6 months
earlier.

With many thanks,

Hans
