Ichneumonidae -bark beetle enemy?

Ichneumonidae -bark beetle enemy?

Postby Astava on 20 Dec 2017, 14:31

Anyone familiar with this species? Must be something special/rare. Only one specimen in two full bottles of malaise material. I assume this one sneeks into the holes of woodboring beetles.

Best regards,

I don't know the species or the Genus, but I think this is an Orthocentrinae

I think it is a Metopiinae (Ex: Hypsicera )

Thanks, @tlegrand and @Rapha1. Looking at the propodeum of the specimen, it has only longitudinal carina. This separates it from Hypsicera. Only one species in Europe, Carria paradoxa Schmiedeknecht, 1924.
