Thankful for ID with this ichneumonid! Body length 18 mm and upper tooth on mandible longer than lower. From our garden in south Sweden yesterday.

I think you also should check genus Ctenichneumon. Maybe C. edictorius or C. divisorius?

Comparison to my gallery cthirion.eu!

Here the white strip of antennas is very basic!

Thanks again! When I look in your gallery and in Perkins (1960) I think it fits good to Eupalamus wesmaeli - and not so good for for Ctenichneumon divisorius. But I am a little unsure about C. edictorius and in which way it differs from E. wesmaeli?

The greydusted stripe on antennae is very irregular - sometimes on upper sida and sometimes in lower side and maybe it is just a discolration.

Ok, I'll try to answer the question about the differences between Eupalamus and Ctenichneumon (checking with literature in Perkins 1960, key to genera Ichneumonini and Valembergs key to Ichneumoninae genera from 2010 + Tereshkins drawing of E. oscillator). I'm very bad at French so I'm only picking out some parts of Valembergs key that I understand... And please note that I don't have Eupalamus species in my collection for comparison! Only have Ctenichneumon divisorius (male & female).

Eupalamus: Area superomedia elongate. Thyridae present. (tyloids in males starting at 7th segment). Postpetiole rugose (not aciculated).

Ctenichneumon: Area superomedia (normally) transverse. Thyridae ABSENT (difficult to spot, maybe I'll need to explain in detail?). Postpetiole aciculated (longitudinally striate).

Thanks Geir!

Seems to be Ctenichneumon after all: Area superomedia is transverse. Thyridae absent (deep gastroceli but without thyridae), Postpetiole longitudinally striate and tyloids from 6th segment.

In Perkins (1960) key it fits best to divisorius I think.
