Protichneumon (pisorius?) Strabrechtse Heide/Netherlands

Postby Libelleke on 17 Aug 2017, 15:14

Dear forum,

Last weekend I found this wasp at the Strabrechtse Heide (near Eindhoven) visiting some heathland with low pine growth.
Estimate for the size roughly around 20-25mm.
It looks kind of similar to Protichneumon pisorius I found some years earlier at the same location, but I'm missing the light patches in the antenna.
Also this one has a black end of the abdomen, which the previous one didn't have. Do the photo's reveal enough to come to a positive ID?

Kind regards,

Robert
