Andrena denticulata?

Andrena denticulata?

Postby Jann Wuebbenhorst on 12 Dec 2017, 10:13

This Andrena male was observed on 11th July 2017, on Senecio jacobaea in the vicinity of sandy pine and oak forest, and also dry meadows in the Elbe River floodplain (Eastern Lower Saxony, Germany).
I think the very long mandibles, the labrum appendix, the very wide gena behind the eye, the triangular projection at the lower edge of the gena and the edges an hind margins at the top of the head can be seen. And the colour and structure of the pile seems fitting to me - but maybe that's not enough for ID.
best wishes,
Jann
