POMPILIDAE Episyron sp. & ..[Portugal]

POMPILIDAE Episyron sp. & ..[Portugal]

Postby CarlosMMSilva on 01 Aug 2017, 01:12

Hi (again)
Like with other family it was just on 2013 that i photographed this kind of wasp.; i suppose i'm right to name that one and this one as Episyron sp., but which one?
These two photos are on the same place on the same plant specie, Daucus carota, but are two different individuals, separated in time as 45 min; i imagine that are the same specie in spite of different color on legs; and that ..and the spines on legs i imagine can dictate the specie.
1) the absent of red color on legs - 14h35m - and the spines let me to see it as E. arrogans but that one is not on the four; or E. funerarium, which is present on the set of four.
2) the presence of red color - at 15h15 m - remembered other one,E. coccineipes, but ..in fact:
i do not know nothing
NOTE: at the moment the Naturdata site has 4 species on this genus Episyron;
Any help?
Thank you (again)

In the upper species, I even cannot confirm a genus. The lower species is a male of Episyron spec, but a species ID is not possible from his photo.

I cannot ID Episyron species from pictures with the exception of female if E. rufipes. It has 4 foretarsal spines, and the remaining species only 3. Remaining characters cannot be seen in normal photos.
